I recently had the honour of documenting Marie and Rob’s intimate chilled out wedding at the Botanic House in the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens. For me it was extra special because the groom is also my brother in law! The bride, Marie, is French but has been in Australia for 5 years now! With me being German there is quite the strong European influence running through our family now which I love!!
Anyway… looking at these photos you’d think they always meant to have this amazing Sydney wedding, when in fact, their original plan was to get married in Morocco. Well, I think you can guess what happened to their plans. It starts with “covid” and ends with “19”. Instead they got married with just their closest family members at the registry office (where I couldn’t be present myself) and then had their party at the Botanic House in the Botanic Gardens. It is such a beautiful venue, a relaxing oasis of green in the middle of the city. Afterwards we went and took mostly candid, some posed portraits in and around the gardens and the Opera House before they boarded a ship and sailed off into the sunset together. It was such an incredible afternoon. Everyone was happy, relaxed and the Sydney spring sun provided the most beautiful sunset.
