Essi-Maria and Neil met in Finland. Essi-Maria is Finnish, Neil is from Australia. Now they live together in Sydney. The couple decided to tie the knot in front of the stunning views of Sydney’s beautiful harbour. They said yes to each other surrounded by their friends and family who traveled here all the way from Finland – and a bunch of Aussie Kookaburras cheering them on in the trees above. Only a stone throw away in viewing distance but on the other side of the harbour at Nielsen Park, Essi-Maria and Neil got engaged the year before. Getting married while being able to see the spot they got engaged at made their wedding extra special.
There is a beautiful little courtyard in the Gunner’s Barracks where first the ceremony took place and later that night the newly-weds danced their first dance under the stars and fairy lights.
The ceremony was delayed by almost half an hour while we waited for rain shower after rain shower to pass but neither Essi-Maria nor Neil did let that become a worry and only had each other and their life together in their thoughts when they said their vows to each other.
After the ceremony and out of the rain everyone celebrated in the small but cosy space inside the Gunner’s Barracks venue’s colonial building. The intimate living room atmosphere there is so perfect to be together with family and friends while it’s cold and raining outside.
Overall, this wedding was just beautiful and perfect and it was a pleasure to be there for Essi-Maria and Neil and document it all for them.
