It was on a hot summer day at the end of the year when I shot this beautiful Sydney wedding. The ceremony took place in a charming, traditional chapel called St Brigid’s church in the Sydney Rocks, tucked amidst the old brick buildings typical for this part of Sydney.
After the ceremony we went and took bride and groom pictures on Observatory Hill with its stunning views over the Harbour Bridge. It was such a hot day (around 35 degrees!) so we were happy to take our shoes off when we finally arrived at Elouera Beach in Cronulla to get some beautiful portraits during golden hour and in front of the setting sun.
The reception was at Elouera Lifesaving Club with wide open windows where you could hear the ocean waves and feel the breeze cooling down the air after a hot day of summer sun.
Overall Dominic and Claire’s wedding represented the perfect, classic Sydney wedding day: Lots of hot summer sunshine, a chapel in the oldest part of Sydney with iconic landmarks like the Opera House and Harbour bridge nearby and an evening coming to an end in the cool ocean breeze at the beach.
Dominic and Claire actually both live in London but Dominic’s family is from Sydney and they didn’t want them to miss out on being able to witness their beautiful union so they came all the way to Australia to get married – and they did everything right! It was a perfect day that I feel honoured to have been a witness and part of and was able to document for them. Congratulations to Claire and Dominic!
