Lisa & Matthias Sydney Elopement

I don’t capture big weddings anymore, but when Lisa contacted me to be her photographer for her small Sydney elopement I absolutely wanted to be a part of it: A ceremony in the heart of Sydney just with the couple, two witnesses, me and fabulous marriage celebrant Andy who I’ve worked with before.

I arrived to sweeping views over the Sydney harbour bridge and Opera house at Copes Lookout on a warm spring afternoon. Lisa and Matthias have such a beautiful and sweet connection that was clear to see and feel from the start but their heartfelt marriage vows had me discretely wiping my eyes. Their genuine joy was a delight to capture. There is nothing quite like post wedding ceremony ear to ear grins and love filled looks and kisses between a newly pronounced husband and wife.

After the ceremony we jumped in an Uber to the other side of the Sydney harbour bridge where I captured some more magical moments at he Sydney Opera House and Mrs Maquarie’s chair, making sure to get those iconic Sydney harbour views.

Then, way too soon, it was time to say goodbye to Lisa and Matthias as they launched their honeymoon, traveling up along the east coast of Australia.

Thank you Lisa and Matthias for having me at your elopement! I’ll never forget it!
