My first official photo shoot – Alison’s and Jack’s Engagement Session
On a hot summer day in November I had my first official photo shoot. It was an engagement session for my beautiful cousin in law Alison and her fiancé (now husband) Jack.
I bought my first DSLR only a few weeks before the session and wasn’t confident at all that I could handle this shoot, but I also couldn’t wait. I loved photographing people and I was hungry for more. I wanted nothing more than to just jump in the cold water and see what would happen. This was the perfect opportunity. As it turned out, Alison and Jack were any photographer’s dream couple: In love over the moon and not afraid to show it. It was a pleasure to watch them looking and talking to each other – so happy.
Alison and Jack first laid eyes on each other when they met at her recruitment business. Later, they saw each other again at a local pub and fell in love. After spending a holiday together in New York, Jack decided to propose to her. He had carried the ring with him for quite a while but he wanted to wait for the right moment. When that moment was there, Ali said yes and that was the first chapter of their love story. I was lucky enough to capture it on that hot summer day in November at a beautiful beach in the South of Sydney.
