What is a good way to start a new blog? Well, I could tell you what it is about, but I am excited to find out myself where this journey is going. Or, I could tell you who it is for, but you have to decide for yourself if it is for you. I could start justifying myself why I think my blog is any different from all the millions and billions of other photography blogs out there on the web and why it is worth reading it but I want to be honest with you: I don’t know. We have to wait and see! For now I just can say welcome to my blog!
I will start this blog where everything started – my hometown in Germany where I grew up. These are pictures taken over all four seasons, over years, with different cameras (none of these are taken with a SLR). This is my home between the age of 16 and 22!

Taken in 2008 in the forest next to my house, I was 15 years old and had better things to do than homework. The camera was a Canon Powershot A580 I think.

Winter 2010/2011 I believe. Taken in the forest next to my house. I often went for a walk after school to take photos. I enjoyed the melancholy and silence of the cold winter forest.

Right: The village’s very distinctive and beautiful church. Left: This was me just before the final exams in my last year of school, not knowing exactly what to do next.

Summer 2011. School was over and there was a lot of time to kill until the start of the first uni semester. What could be a better place than swimming in the creek in the forest near the house? © 2011 Celina Hofmann

The alps at sunset. Photographed from a small neighbour village called “Dichau”. This is one of my first pictures with my bridge zoom camera “Panasonic Lumix FZ150”.

Spring 2012. The first Semester at uni is already over. Time goes by so fast. I didn’t know this would be the last spring I would spend in Germany for many years…
This is my journey from my first little “digi-cam” to my first DSLR. It is the journey from a teenage girl to a grown up woman. It is a personal introduction in pictures.
